Square [ i ] US Inc (a subsidiary of Square [ i ] International) and ComputerTree combine to expand Square’s International Apple Reseller presence as an Apple Value Added Reseller.

Baltimore, MD—Aug. 28, 2012—Square [ i ] International announced that it has acquired ComputerTree, an Apple Specialist in Winston-Salem, NC.

Square [ i ] International has been expanding it’s global presence for many months and opened an office in the US last year.  Jack Gaido was hired and named as President of the Americas to grow the US business.  Gaido saw the opportunity to grow rapidly by acquiring long term Apple Specialist, ComputerTree.  “ComputerTree brings over 30 years of Apple expertise to the Square Global Family. It was a great fit for our international vision” Gaido said.

Bob Young, President of ComputerTree will become COO of Square [ i ] Americas, as it will now be known. Darren King, CEO of Square [ i ] International said “This is a very exciting acquisition for Square and we’re really pleased to have Bob and his team on board.”

Square Americas will focus on Global Fortune 500 companies and the hospitality industry, co-ordinating its efforts with the other global Square operations.  The Winston-Salem office will also assist in building Square’s business out of the recently opened Miami-based Latin America office and the Toronto-based Canadian office, giving Square [ i ] International Apple Reseller capability even greater coverage.

“No one has really done this before.  Even Apple employees can’t take an order in the US for product in another country.  Square will be a single source vendor for international companies”, Young said.

The Winston-Salem office will continue to manage it’s retail sales location in North Carolina and maintain its service center for US needs. Square [ i ] will also continue to operate Apple Authorized Training Centers in North Carolina and Georgia under the ComputerTree brand.
